Play the demo during Steam Next Fest

From October 19 to 26, 2026, the Dead Hand demo is part of Steam Next Fest (starting at 10 AM Pacific time). Play the Warrior and the Sniper, then tell us what you think on Discord.

How it plays

Somewhere in the ruins, someone is still alive. Every card you play is a resource spent — an irreversible choice. Your provisions run dry, the horde closes in. You build, adapt, die — and go again.

  1. Every card is a choice

Each card has an effect, and an energy value while it stays in your hand. Your hand’s energy, capped at 10, pays for the cards you play. Play it now, or keep it to fuel something bigger?

  2. One run, one life

Cross ruined zones, fight the horde, scavenge food, ammo and gear, and shape your deck along the way. When you die, you start over, a little wiser.

  3. Never fight alone

Allies fight at your side. They grow stronger with their own kills, and every level unlocks a new card.

  • Card art: the Cop brings her baton down on a raider in a looted mall.
  • Card art: the Warrior screams, kneeling among the dead in the forest.
  • Card art: the Warrior punches a zombie in a shopping gallery.
